What you’ll do:
As a Bookkeeper, you’ll play a key role in supporting our financial operations and contributing to the company’s growth. Working closely with finance controller and CFO, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting tasks, and ensuring smooth administrative processes. Over time, you’ll also have the opportunity to assist with projects, process optimalization and new business as we expand across Europe. This role offers valuable experience and room for professional development within a growing, mission-driven organization dedicated to inspiring education across continents.
Here’s how your time will be spent:
Your responsibilities will extend across several critical areas to support our Dutch and German entities, including:
- Recording and verifying purchase and sales invoices in Exact Online.
- Preparing and sending sales invoices.
- Monitoring and maintaining accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Checking timesheets, receipts, and expense claims (expense tool).
- Identifying discrepancies or irregularities in the accounts.
- Maintaining fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and project administration (if relevant).
- Working closely with the Financial Controller on the setup and maintenance of Exact Online.
- Contributing to process improvements and digitalization (scanning, automated entries, workflows).
- Maintaining accurate digital filing and document management.
- First contact for support and sales questions.
- Debt collection process.
Qualifications:
- Mbo-niveau 4 or hbo degree in accounting/finance.
- Several years of experience in financial administration (2–3 years).
- Proficient in Excel; experience with Exact Online is preferred.
- Previous payroll experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in English and Dutch.
- Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment.
- Curious, self-driven, flexible, precise, resilient, and a team player.
- Technically savvy; enjoys optimizing processes and working with different tools (plus).
Compensation & Requirements
- Hours: 20–40 per week
- Starting salary: €2.800 – €3,500 per month (full-time basis)
- Experience: 2–3 years
