We offer both online and physical tutoring sessions, ensuring educational accessibility for students aged 8-18. Together with our team of 800 (Germany) and 1300 (Netherlands) tutors, we have provided more than 150,000 tutoring lessons and helped about 25,000 students. With strong investors on board, our mission is to scale across Europe and help a million students, highlighting our trajectory as a high-growth company.   

What you’ll do:

As a Finance controller, you’ll be a strategic partner in our growth. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will not only manage comprehensive financial and administrative operations but eventually also collaborate closely with the Management Team to draft strategic and financial plans essential for our expansion across Europe. This position offers the unique opportunity for career progression, with potential to evolve into leading finance as we continue our journey to inspire education across continents.  

Here’s how your time will be spent:

Your responsibilities will extend across several critical areas to support our Dutch and German entities, including:

Starting responsibilities:

• Manage full-scope financial administration.
• Handle payroll processing.
• Process bank transactions and daily payments.
• Prepare VAT returns and financial reports.
• Specify and analyze general ledger accounts.
• Ensure alignment between financial administration and subsystems.
• Maintain and optimize Exact Online and related tools (e.g., expense tool).
• Streamline and improve existing administrative processes.
• Contribute to HR administration, including contract management.
• Support with various ad hoc financial and administrative tasks.

As the role evolves:

• Take ownership of budgeting, including liquidity forecasting.
• Analyze financial results against budgets and forecasts.
• Manage monthly and quarterly closings, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Set up and monitor internal controls to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare management reports and KPI dashboards for performance monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax obligations, and legal requirements.
• Coordinate with external accountants and auditors during reviews and the annual report process.
• Translate financial data into actionable insights to support management decision-making.

Compensation & Requirements

• Hours: 32–40 per week
• Starting salary: €3,500–€4,500 per month (full-time)
• Experience: 2–3 years
